Lets Take This Baby Out
So now that your family has grown, you’re going to want to strut around in all the luxury gear that was acquired over that eternal pregnancy. How does a new parent actually carry all a newborn’s necessities and still enjoy the outing? We’re going to give you some tips and tricks for getting around some of our favorite family friendly spots in Colorado. We love a good family photo moment, brunch, a chill mountain hike, breweries, parks, and all the Denver Metro has to offer for you to enjoy with your new picture perfect family.
First Stop: Denver Zoo
We’re selecting Denver Zoo as our initiation into Colorado Mom Life. As first time mamas we learned alot from observing other families here. “Ooohh look at this stroller handle height! Why did we buy this one? That seat looks alot more comfortable. We need a wagon. Glad we waited. That has been sold out forever!” No comment on whether or not those statements have been made at the zoo gear parade that is on display daily. All jokes aside, whether you are still pregnant or just mulling over a new purchase, invest in a day at Denver Zoo first. We guarantee you will see that item in action and a really nice family willing to let you give it a push and a real life review. Do you see these cool CO moms? This was not a staged photo of people we know! Just legit a BOB, Mockingbird, Thule, and an Uppababy chilling together.
We deconstruct the diaper bag for the zoo; utilize the basket and save the back. We like to have a pouch with diapering essentials and a travel changing pad, a wetbag with a backup outfit. If bottle feeding don’t forget your insulated pouch with bottles. Put everything in the wetbag except the changing pad and toss in the basket! We also love a snuggly baby wearing moment, and the same bare essentials would be in our diaper backpack.
Now that you have your plan in place (you got this!) book the tickets, honestly might as well splurge on the membership, if you live within 30 minutes it is so worth it #notsponsored. Park in the lowest level of the parking structure, so you and baby get to come back to a nice cool and dry car.
Denver Zoo is on a nice loop for a stroll with your newborn baby and a coffee. This is a confidence building experience and hello, a major photo opportunity! You just got your newborn in front of some rhinos and Rocky Mountain Sheep! That’s major! Ask another mom to snap a pic of you and babe then return the favor! Maybe you just started a photo tradition in front of your favorite tree there? Maybe you just made a mom friend in the wild! Can you even imagine?
